We enjoyed our stay at Kenmuir Arms in New Luce very much. Chris, the chef is a true magican with food and flavours! The girls are friendly and always willing to help out. The environment is very beautiful and the small scale hotel is a golden retreat for a couple of days. Thank you, guys. We will keep warm feelings for the place. Gorgeous little pub that has been beautifully renovated and sitting on the banks of the Luce River. The food was absolutely excellent. Chris, the chef, such a lovely person and a wonderful cook and the rest of the team very friendly and hospitable. We'd go back for dinner on a Saturday night and we live in Sydney Australia!

Absolutely wonderful Sunday lunch at the Ken Muir. 5 courses of some of the best food Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. a real gem to be found in the heart of Galloway. our server Michelle (I think, terrible with names) was friendly and very knowledgeable about our food. also we were lucky to speak with Chris (the chef) he is a really wealthy of knowledge and experience that really shows in his cuisine. highly recommend, Michelin quality food without the price tag imo!
This is a wonderful place to stay! Lovely rooms, incredible atmosphere and great homemade food will make you feel like new after a weekend getaway. The area around the hotel is stunning and offers loads of great nature walks.

What an incredible hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room with genuine hospitality. The room itself was immaculate, equipped with a Nespresso machine and more than enough coffee to enjoy. Every detail, including the excellent shower facilities, reflected great care and quality. In the evening, we dined in the restaurant and opted for the chef’s choice – a three-course menu that truly exceeded our expectations. What a culinary delight! The black pudding and haggis were prepared to absolute perfection. Each dish showcased the chef’s remarkable talent, creativity, and deep respect for the ingredients. It was clear that every plate was crafted with passion and precision. Our simple conclusion: this hotel and restaurant are absolutely worth the drive. A special mention must go to the chef, whose outstanding skills and dedication turned our meal into an unforgettable experience.
Visited this evening to try the Dumfries and Galloway Culinary Set Tasting Menu- absolutely spectacular! Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. The passion of the chef was evident from the care they took with every aspect of the superb dining experience. The fact that they took time to chat through each course, before and after, is a testament to how much they care about the epic food adventure they took us on. Would highly recommend. Stunning setting, welcoming atmosphere and delightful service from every member of the team. Thanks for having us- we'll be back soon!
Absolute gem of a place! 5 star accommodation and food - everything is done so well. Incredible food making the most of local ingredients, a warm welcome from the lovely team, and comfortable cosy rooms. We’re leaving well fed, well rested, and with a new appreciation for this wonderful wee part of Scotland. Can’t recommend enough!
